So, I’m about to fall asleep, because of my horrid sleeping schedule… But I had to jump out of bed and write this. Then after I wrote it, I had to type it up on my iPad. Then after I typed it up on my iPad, I just KNEW I had to post it. Why?… I don’t know. I just really like it. Thought you guys…

‘I’m bored’ is a useless thing to say. I mean, you live in a great, big, vast world that you’ve seen none percent of. Even the inside of your own mind is endless. The fact that you’re alive is amazing, so you don’t get to say ‘I’m bored.’
The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours.
Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get - only with what you are expecting to give - which is everything.
This is the kind of thing people pray in the Bible:
14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Wow… would that more people prayed that way for me!! And that my prayers for others would be more like that as well!
Your relationship with God isn’t trivial, it’s not a casual friendship. It’s the relationship a child in a burning house has with a fireman, the relationship between a drowning swimmer and a lifeguard, the relationship between a wounded soldier and his rescuer. There is no room for our own strength in this sort of relationship, it’s either accept the help He has to offer or die.
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
Saying ‘I notice you’re a nerd’ is like saying, ‘Hey, I notice that you’d rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you’d rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?’ In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even ‘lame’ is kind of lame. Saying ‘You’re lame’ is like saying ‘You walk with a limp.’ Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he’s done all right for himself.
